Science teachers attend workshop series for SPN-21

Some 23 Science teachers from government and non-government secondary schools began a series of six training sessions on "Developing Science Year Seven Web-Based Resources (Offline) for SPN-21 Curriculum". The workshop, which will run until Aug 27, 2008, is jointly organised by the Ministry of Education's Human Resource Development Department and SM Rimba, stated a press release. Among its objectives are to provide teachers with skills to use PowerPoint, HotPotatoes, Search Engines and Webzip. Facilitating the workshop is Chong Jon Fong, HOD ICT and the Webmaster of SM Rimba. Hjh Norsah Hj Musa, SM Rimba's Deputy Principal and adviser of its ICT School-Based Subject Committee, also stressed the importance of "Excellence in Teaching and Learning" to make SPN-21 Science learning more fun and exciting with more visual and audio elements. She added that to facilitate the teaching and learning of Science, more resources are needed and she hopes that the workshop will provide another platform for such purposes.
